Living the Soft Life as a Political Act of Self-Love
Hello, Queen,
Life is sending messages from every direction, from the headlines to the conversations we overhear in passing. For many of us, especially Black women, these messages hit differently. The weight of the world is real. And too often, we find ourselves making life decisions from a place of survival instead of sovereignty.
I remember my twenties like they were yesterday. Big dreams, deep hopes. Some came true. Some waited. But one thing that helped me navigate the big choices was asking myself one question:
Is the life I’m living today the one I want to be living five years from now?
If the answer was yes, I would create a plan to enhance it. If the answer was no, I’d start working on my exit strategy.
Now, in this new season, I see that many of us are standing at that same crossroads. We’re ready to escape the chaos, but more than that, we’re ready to build peace.
That’s why I created The Soft Life is Political, a podcast series that speaks to our quiet rebellion. Our choice to move with intention. Our decision to honor softness not as weakness but as a radical act of self-respect.
And now, I’m taking it one step further.
Introducing The Soft Life Starter Kit—a 7-part audio experience designed as a daily pause to begin and end your day with presence and peace. It’s not fluff. It’s a toolkit rooted in care, clarity, and healing. I spent three days scripting, recording, editing, and designing this gift. It’s not something I built from expertise, but from experience. Years of listening, observing, and now showing up for you.
Because I know what it’s like to need something that just holds you. That reminds you who you are.
This week on the Black Women Amplified Podcast, we continue the conversation with a love note to every woman navigating midlife and seeking softness on her terms. We talk about aging, peace, and why the Soft Life is more than a trend, it’s liberation.
In this episode, we explore:
-
How your media, environment, and relationships influence your inner peace
-
Why softness is a political act and not just an aesthetic
-
The difference between feeding your spirit and fueling your triggers
-
The beauty of aging and letting go of outdated versions of yourself
-
Asking better questions is the first step to thriving
Sis, this is your time. Your softness is not a luxury, it’s your birthright.
And this? This is your invitation.
