I’m excited to share this conversation with you on the podcast.
Sidebar. People always ask me if I am going to release a video. And honestly, I believe there is something special about audio. For many of us, not being seen is freeing. I cannot tell you the sense of relief I feel when I tell my guests there is no need for glam. The conversation opens. The guard drops. And we get to something real.
There is also something meaningful about being able to listen anywhere. In your car. On a walk. In a quiet moment to yourself. Audio creates a different kind of space. More intimate. More honest. More sacred. Bravo to those building on video; it opens different doors. Maybe one day. But for now, I am committed to the depth that audio allows.
Yes, I move differently.
Speaking of moving differently, this week’s episode is with Lisane Basquiat.
She is a rare kind of woman. Grounded, accomplished, and deeply clear in how she sees the world. When I was shaping Season 8, I knew I wanted conversations with women who carry both lived experience and real expertise. Not opinions. Not noise. Depth. Lisane is that woman.
She is a Brooklyn native who moves across three distinct worlds with ease. An award-winning business leader, the founder of Shaping Freedom, and the co-steward of her brother Jean-Michel Basquiat’s legacy. She transitioned from corporate executive to entrepreneur and has built a body of work centered on clarity, personal responsibility, and transformation.
In our previous conversation, we talked about her story. Today, we talk about ours.
This episode is about boundaries and balance in a time that feels anything but stable, how we hold ourselves. How do we stay focused? How do we stop overextending and start making decisions that actually support the life we are building?
Lisane is brilliant, but more than that, she is precise. She has a way of breaking through how we see ourselves without performance or fluff. A board-certified NLP Master Practitioner and teacher, and a certified professional coach, her work through Shaping Freedom is grounded in helping people understand themselves at a deeper level and move differently because of it.
This is a conversation to sit with. Notebook nearby.
Listen in and let me know what stays with you.
