Beyonce’ and Black Women In Country Music

Hello, Diamonds,
Beyonce shares the experience of Black women who have been doing country music for decades. One would think that an artist of her caliber would not have been shut out, but she was.
My hope is not necessarily that the country industry will change, but that the overall music experience will shift. That we support the many black people doing country, folk, rock, house, and beyond will be added to our playlists, award shows, radio station requests, and entertainment media outlets building such a swell of popularity that it will blow the hinges of the locked doors of country music.
Chapel Hart and Rissi Palmer share their experiences after a decade in country music. Gigging and living as independent artists.
Congrats to Beyoncé and her new album Country Carter, and much success to all of the Black women in country music who continue to make incredible art.
Support them too! they deserve their time in the sun!
You can listen to Chapel Hart and Rissi Palmer share their stories on the Black Women Amplified Podcast.
