Daddy’s Grown Little Girl

As a little girl, my daddy would take me on a 30-minute drive to his pharmacy on the north side of St. Louis. My father, a pharmacist, entrepreneur, and community leader, ran his business in the heart of a thriving business district. Surrounded by a vibrant community of businesses—from the TV repair shop to the dry cleaners—I absorbed the essence of entrepreneurship early on.

Unbeknownst to me, this environment was embedding the spirit of entrepreneurship into my DNA. When I embarked on my career as a cosmetologist, I carried forward the fundamental lesson my father taught me: treat your clients exceptionally well. This core principle became the foundation of my business practices, fostering loyalty and building a community long before social media emerged.

However, despite the success I achieved through a customer-centered approach, I faced a critical turning point when balancing my business and personal life became overwhelming. On a business trip to Tampa and New Orleans, I unexpectedly found myself in urgent care rather than enjoying the vibrant culture of New Orleans. This health crisis made me reevaluate my approach to business and personal well-being.

This eye-opening experience led me to a profound realization: sustainable success requires more than just client satisfaction—it necessitates personal self-care and balance. I learned that treating myself with the same care and attention I offered my clients was crucial for a thriving business.

Embracing this balanced approach allowed me to build and nurture businesses across various industries—beauty, music, and publishing—while consistently centering the consumer in every project. The transformation from merely providing a service to becoming a mentor enabled me to guide entrepreneurs, creatives, and industry leaders in crafting businesses that offer time, money, and freedom, all while maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

Today, I am dedicated to helping others achieve their dream lifestyles through sustainable business practices. By empowering entrepreneurs and leaders to build businesses that align with their vision of a balanced and fulfilling life, I ensure they, too, can experience the freedom and joy that comes from treating themselves as well as they treat their clients.
