Happy Black History Year,

It’s been days, weeks, maybe longer, of loud and wrong. As the kids say, “day to day, moment by moment,” the world keeps shifting, turning, spiraling into turmoil and confusion. This is a familiar feeling, but it’s amplified to a degree I can barely comprehend. But here’s what I know for sure, it is by design.

Last night, I had a conversation with Lisane Basquait on Instagram about finding your focus. You can catch the full discussion on my @MonicaWisdom Instagram if you’re on the ‘Gram. We dove deep into how easy it is to get lost in the chaos of the world, but it’s vital to find something that grounds us, something that brings joy. Whether it’s learning a new language, planning your dream trip, or reconnecting with an old friend, joy is a form of resistance.

After all the hard work we’ve put in to move this nation forward, we deserve joy. Joy is our weapon, our medicine, and it keeps us strong. Tap into that inner voice, lean into your faith, and find the community that lifts you up. As Kendrick Lamar says, “We gon’ be alright.”

In other news…

I’m thrilled to share that my new journal, Envision, has officially been approved for print! I’ve upgraded everything, including the guided questions, and it now includes a section to help you develop your big vision, along with an action plan to make it happen. Whether you’re into digital downloads or prefer the feel of a physical book, it’s available for you.

This is the perfect time to go within, get clear, and lovingly focus on yourself. Self-care in this era is not just bubble baths and face masks—it’s about vision and action. You have everything you need to create the life you envision. It’s going to take courage, strength, and wisdom and you already have all three in abundance.

I’ve been thinking about the voices we’ve lost. Maya Angelou, Chadwick Boseman, and so many others. Their insights, their wisdom, are sorely missed. Like you, many of us don’t always have the chance to share our thoughts, our perspectives, and the knowledge we carry. This is why I’m such an advocate for podcasting. Have you ever considered starting your own show?

I know, it sounds like a lot of work or maybe you don’t think you have the time, but let me ask you, who’s going to share your insights and pass your knowledge on to others? Keeping it in a group chat is so 2024. It’s time to get your voice into the world and share your brilliance.

Unlike the loud and wrong crowd, you have something valuable to say. Let it be heard.

I’ve got you if you’re interested but don’t know where to start. Not only do I offer podcast coaching, but I’ve also created a guide to walk you through the process of creating an impactful show. Developing a great show takes time, and it’s so much more than just a microphone and recording device. From Starbucks to Oprah, everyone has a podcast these days. The beauty is you can create whatever type of show you want.

If you’re looking to leverage your expertise and build deeper connections with your audience or clients. Especially if you’re tired of relying on social media, podcasting is your platform.

There are so many possibilities with podcasting. If you’re interested, simply hit reply with your questions, and I’ll be sure to answer them.

Today is the last day of January, and it feels like an entire year has passed. But tomorrow, we begin to celebrate Black History Year. We honor those who came before us, their courage, strength, and power. Their legacy reminds us of who we are and what we’re capable of.

Sending you light and love,
Monica Wisdom

Defying Gravity.

I’ve spent this week immersed in the Wicked soundtrack, and let me tell you, it’s taken on a whole new meaning. Listen closely, and let it serve as a powerful reminder: we too can defy gravity.

Just like Elphaba, we have the power to rise above, to challenge the odds, and to break free from the limits that others (and sometimes even we ourselves) try to impose. The journey might not be easy, but it’s ours to take.

So, take that step, trust your wings, and remember that the sky isn’t the limit. It’s just the beginning
